Have
your team form two lines facing each other just like pre-game throwing
warm up. Player one in the first line throws to player one in the
second line who then throws to player two in the first line and so
forth creating a Zig Zag pattern as the ball moves up the lines.
When the ball reaches the last player, it is reversed and is thrown
back down the line and therefore, ends up back with beginning player
one. If there is a bad throw or dropped catch, that player has to run
around the perimeter of the group and get back to his spot before the
ball returns back down the line.
Other variations include timing the drill to promote quick catch and
throws of middle infielders or adding more than one ball and not
reversing to the end of the line for safety reasons.
